My House Stats 2023 Draft Featuring Miami, Atlanta, Washington, and Boston

A possible World War 3, inflation, and job loss are a thing, and no one’s willing to step up. That means it’s time for a draft. Four American cities are going to duke it out for a spot to be featured on My House Stats. These cities are Miami, Atlanta, Washington, and Boston. Each are unique based on culture, history, academics, innovation, and more.

Miami – Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States

Sunny Miami, also known as Vice City, is Florida’s biggest metro area. The city has just shy of 400,000 people as of 2010, and its metro has 6 million people as of 2015. Hispanic/Latino people make up 72.5% of Miami. Its main attractions are its warm weather, nice beaches with palm trees, and amazing nightlife. The metro area has Florida’s Gold Coast. The Gold Coast contains the Everglades, Greater Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Hialeah, North Miami, and other smaller municipalities/unincorporated areas.

Nightlife

The nightlife is where Miami outshines other cities. There are many nightclubs, lounges with sea views, wine bars, and live concerts. Miami Music Week happens every March and features events like Ultra Music Festival.

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Atlanta, also known as ATL, is the biggest city in the southeast US and capital of Georgia. The city has 400,000 people as of 2010. In addition, the metro has just under 6 million people. It’s known for its history, including the Civil War, Civil Rights Movement, and birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr.

In addition, there’s no shortage of culture, art, music, diversity, shopping in the ATL. If you’re a sports fan you can watch teams like the Hawks (NBA), Falcons (NFL), and Braves (MLB). Known music artists include Migos, OutKast, John Mayer, Ludacris, TLC, and many more. In terms of art its streets are covered with breathtaking murals and spray art.

Washington, DC, United States

Washington, also known as DC, is the capital of the United States of America and the nation’s attic. It’s metro area boasts a population of over 6 million It’s home to the President, as well as the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the US government.

In addition, it’s easy to find lots of Smithsonian museums that are free of charge. The city’s design is heavily influenced by Freemasons, as it has roughly 36 Freemason lodges. Moreover, there’s no shortage of media companies.

Museums

Smithsonian institutions carry 154 million items, mostly in free-of-charge museums. Example museums are the National Air & Space Museum and the National Museum of Natural History.

Freemasons

Washington has no shortage of Masonic references. The city hosts 36 Freemason lodges, the George Washington Masonic National Memorial, and the Temple of the Scottish Rite. The cornerstones of prominent buildings involved Masonic rites. In addition, there are several historical figures that were Freemasons:

  • The Founding Fathers (George Washington & Benjamin Franklin)
  • The Founding Fathers’ war generals
  • White House architect James Hoban
  • US Capital architect Benjamin LaTrobe

Media

No other city has as many national and global media outlets. Companies include National Public Radio (NPR), National Geographic, Discovery, Voice of America, and the Washington Post.

The Washington Post is the most read newspaper. It was founded in 1877, making it the oldest newspaper. Its most famous story was the Watergate Scandal leak, which involved President Richard Nixon’s administration.

Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Boston, or Beantown, is the heart of New England and capital of the capital of the Massachusetts commonwealth. The city’s population, as of 2010, is just over 600,000 and its metropolitan population is just under 5 million as of 2015. This is the origin of the American Revolution and the birth of the United States. The “Beantown” nickname came from the delicious colonial-era Boston baked beans recipe made from beans baked in molasses.

Everyone knows Boston for their sports teams, such as the Patriots (NFL), Bruins (NHL), Celtics (NBA), and Red Sox (MLB). Academics, science, entrepreneurship here is no joke, with globally top-ranked schools like MIT and Harvard in close proximity to each other and Boston. A quarter of the city’s area is water including the Charles River, Boston Harbour, and the Atlantic Ocean.
